A great kitchen is the center of a great home — and in Alamo, where quality living is the standard, the bar for what a kitchen remodel should deliver is exceptionally high. Ridgecrest Designs brings a luxury design-build approach to every kitchen project we take on: integrated design, photo-realistic renders before a single cabinet is ordered, and hands-on management from first meeting through final walkthrough.
Alamo is an unincorporated community of large-lot estates and gated enclaves that sits between Danville and Walnut Creek — consistently among the most exclusive residential addresses in Contra Costa County. Alamo homeowners are accustomed to quality and expect a design-build firm that operates at the same level — meticulous, discreet, and completely accountable.
Our kitchen remodel projects start at $150,000 and are designed for homeowners who want the full picture before construction begins. That means custom cabinetry designed around your workflow, appliances specified to your cooking style, lighting that performs as beautifully as it looks, and finishes — countertops, backsplash, flooring — selected with the whole space in mind, not in isolation.
Scope of Work
Every project is different — but every Ridgecrest project includes full design-build management, photo-realistic renders before construction begins, and a single point of accountability from first meeting to final walkthrough.
Kitchen remodel projects with Ridgecrest Designs start at $150,000. We work best with homeowners ready for a comprehensive transformation — not a surface-level refresh.
Our Work in Alamo
A Real Alamo Kitchen
This Alamo kitchen started as a dated, builder-grade space — light maple cabinetry and beige walls beneath a beamed ceiling that deserved far more. Ridgecrest Designs led the design and project management, reworking the room as a warm, organic-modern kitchen that works with the home's mid-century architecture instead of fighting it.
The finished space pairs sage-green cabinetry with natural white-oak wall paneling, green-stone countertops and a full-height stone backsplash, a handmade ceramic-tile range hood, and brass hardware throughout — copper pendants and a reeded-wood island over the home's original slate floor. The construction was carried out by others under Ridgecrest's design direction.
As with every Ridgecrest project, the design was resolved in photo-realistic renders before any work began. See the full Alamo Oaks Kitchen project, before & after →
Permitting in Alamo
Alamo is an unincorporated community, so kitchen-remodel permits are handled by the Contra Costa County Building Inspection Division rather than a city building department. Permits are required for structural changes — removing or altering a load-bearing wall — and for electrical, plumbing, gas, and mechanical or ventilation work. Purely cosmetic finish work — refacing cabinets, new flooring, or paint — often doesn't, though replacing countertops can itself trigger a permit, so we confirm the scope up front.
Because the kitchens worth doing well usually involve moving a wall, relocating plumbing, or adding circuits, most trigger a permit. As an integrated design-build firm, we prepare the plans, manage the County's review and inspections, and coordinate the trades — so the permitting is handled, not your problem.
Investment
Full design-build kitchen remodels with Ridgecrest in Alamo start at $150,000 and scale with scope. A refined pull-and-replace with premium materials sits at the lower end; opening up a wall, relocating plumbing, custom cabinetry, and structural work moves it up from there. We're built for serious, high-quality projects — not the lowest bid — and you'll get a clear number tied to your actual scope before any commitment.
